About Phakama Africa

Phakama Africa is guided by an advisory board and a dedicated team committed to empowering youth across Zambia.

Our Mission

To engage, educate, and empower adolescents and youth in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), governance, vocational skills, and climate change mitigation through education opportunities, leadership development, health, governance, and social and economic programs.

Our Vision

A Zambia where adolescent boys and girls, young men and women have increased agency and voice and are empowered to reach their full potential and live lives of dignity, equality, and opportunity.

“What began as an idea by three young women determined to defend rights and empower their peers has grown into a movement engaging communities in Lusaka, Central, and Copperbelt provinces. Today, Phakama Africa partners with local and international organizations to ensure young people have the tools, opportunities, and support to thrive.”
